She also was admitted to the Order of the Barristers for excellence in advocacy and services.

Upon leaving the Berks County Public Defenders' Office, Lauren Marks entered the private law field where she specializes in family and criminal law. Currently, Attorney Marks is frequently appointed by the courts in highly litigious custody cases to act as a Guardian ad Litem for minor children. Attorney Marks is a member of the Berks County and Pennsylvania Bar Associations.

Attorney Marks resides in Berks County with her husband and four children.

Throughout her career, Lauren Marks learned how challenging it is for people to use the legal system on their own. Law is a complex field that takes a great deal of training to understand and to use to your advantage. She realized that she could do the most good for people by practicing in some of the toughest legal areas — specifically divorce and custody law, and criminal defense.
